I want to spread the word to all the elementary schools in the area and I’d greatly appreciate anyone who can help run the benches on Nov. 5 to make this day a success.

Brian Gavlas has offered free passes to their match that night and we are working on some sponsorship to eliminate fees for the boys to come play and watch volleyball. We will likely be providing t-shirts to participants.

I’m doing this because I think that we need to spur growth in the boys game in Saskatchewan through events like this. I hope to encourage growth in both club volleyball and the 6Pac Wednesday night play we started last winter. Every year it seems as though we have almost exclusive first-year players. All the men’s/boys age groups in provincials had only 6 teams playing in them last year. We need more boys playing and we need a stimulus to make that happen.

I will be using this day to recruit players to Wednesday nights 6Pac and I would like to encourage club development as well. I hope that teachers will bring their school teams but, we need to ensure that there’s some direction on the courts so, anyone who can help coach on the day would be greatly appreciated.

I am interested to have your feedback on this and I look forward to seeing some growth in short order with things like this.

A booking problem has occurred resulting in Bedford gym being unavailable for the rest of the day, the remainder of the matches for Dec. 5th, 2010 have been moved to City Park.
