Court Setup And Takedown

The first minor officiating team on a court Sunday morning and the last minor officiating team on a court Sunday evening are responsible for their respective court setup or takedown.

If a minor officiating team fails to set up a minimum 5 minutes prior to match time, or take down properly, they will be charged a $25.00 default fee and negative 1 in the standings for each occurrence.

Instructions

Mount Royal Court 1, 2, 3, and 4 (PDF)

Mount Royal Girls Gym (Court 1 and 2)

Setup

  • The caretakers will open the school no later than 8:45 a.m. and will not lock up until 9:15 p.m.
  • Tables and chairs available inside equipment room.
  • Use benches found along the gym walls.
  • Nets, standards, ref stands, padding are found in the equipment room by the center entrance to the gym.
  • SAVA will drop off the flipcharts and score sheet binders (antennas if necessary)
  • Place a garbage can between the courts, near the scorekeepers’ tables.

Takdown

  • Nets, standards & protective padding are to be taken from and placed in the equipment room next to the stairs to the stage.
  • Be careful not to scratch the floor. Carry the equipment when possible.
  • Referee stands go in the equipment room as well. If not enough room, they can be put at the back of the stage against the wall.
  • Tables, benches & chairs get stacked and placed on the stage as far back as possible.
  • Replace hole caps.
  • Clearly labeled SAVA antennas, flipcharts & score sheet binders are to be placed near the exit to the hallway: to be picked up by SAVA.
  • Garbage cans will be available all day between the two courts. Remove all noticeable debris from the floor.

Mount Royal Boys Gym (Courts 3 and 4)

Setup

  • The caretakers will open the school no later than 8:45 a.m. and will not lock up until 9:15 p.m.
  • Tables and chairs available inside equipment room.
  • Use benches found along the gym walls.
  • Nets, standards, ref stands, padding are found in the equipment room on the far center side of the gym.
  • SAVA will drop off the flipcharts and score sheet binders (antennas if necessary)
  • Place a garbage can between the courts, near the scorekeepers’ tables.

Takdown

  • Nets, standards & protective padding are to be taken from and placed in the equipment room between the 2 courts.
  • Be careful not to scratch the floor. Carry the equipment when possible.
  • Referee stands can be put at the back of the stage in the girls gym.
  • Tables, benches & chairs get stacked and placed on the stage in the girls gym as far back as possible.
  • Replace hole caps.
  • SAVA antennas, flipcharts & score sheet binders are to be placed in the girls gym near the exit to the hallway: to be picked up by SAVA.
  • Garbage cans will be available all day between the two courts. Remove all noticeable debris from the floor.

Bedford Court 5 and 6 (PDF)

Setup

  • The school should be open shortly after 8:30 a.m.
  • Caretakers will have tables and chairs available along the side of the gym in the morning.
  • Use benches found along the gym walls.
  • Nets, standards, ref stands, padding are found in the equipment room beside the main entrance.
  • If available, use the school antennas.
  • SAVA will drop off the flipcharts and score sheet binders (antennas if necessary)
  • Place a garbage can between the courts, near the scorekeepers’ tables.

Takedown

  • Fold and roll nets as per instructions found in the equipment room.
  • Place rolled nets and protective padding onto the equipment room shelves.
  • Referee stands are to be placed at the back wall of the equipment room.
  • Net standards are to be placed vertically in the equipment room.
  • Be careful not to scratch the floor. Carry the equipment when possible.
  • Tables & chairs get stacked and placed near the girls’ change room door (diagonally opposite to the main gym entrance).
  • Replace hole caps.
  • Clearly labeled SAVA antennas, flipcharts & score sheet binders are to be placed OUTSIDE the equipment room door: to be picked up by SAVA.
  • If using Bedford’s antennas, place in the equipment room with the net standards.
  • Remove all noticeable debris from the floor. Use the garbage can!
